The Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education are responsible for accepting documents for apostille  in Ukraine.

The Ministry of Education affixes an apostille to education documents for countries that have signed the Hague Convention.

Legalization is carried out through the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for documents on education for the UAE, Libya, Iran, Kuwait, Egypt, China and other countries that have not signed the Hague Convention. In some cases, you need a power of attorney and a letter of confirmation from the university.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues an apostille for a police clearance certificate.

The Ministry of Justice issues an apostille on certificates.

When submitting documents for apostille, legal entities must attach an official letter on the company’s letterhead, certified with a wet seal and signed by the director. You can request the text of the application letter from our managers.

Since 20.11.2015, documents issued by the justice authorities, notaries and courts are apostilled in the territorial departments of the Registry Office.

Apostille is a stamp that is affixed to a document and replaces the legalization procedure. The apostilled document becomes valid in the territory of all countries that are members of the Hague Convention (we recommend that you follow the updates in this list, as new countries are constantly joining the Hague Convention).

Some countries require a double apostille.

Consular legalization is applied when exchanging documents between countries that are not parties to the Convention. This is a more complex two-way procedure.

Apostille duplicates information about the document it is affixed to. In addition, it necessarily contains the following details:

  1. The country that issued the apostille.
  2. Surname of the person who signed the apostilled document.
  3. The position of the signatory of the original document.
  4. The name of the institution that owns the seal / stamp on the apostilled document.
  5. The name of the city in which the apostille was affixed.
  6. Date of its affixing.
  7. The office that issued the apostille.
  8. Apostille number.
  9. The seal of the institution that issued the apostille.
  10. Signature of the official who affixed the apostille.
